What yarn to use?

Hi! I haven't picked up my yarn for these adorable socks, so, I was wondering what type of yarn you are using? The majority of the fingering weight/sock yarn I have seen has wool in it, and I am wanting something more cotton based.

Thanks!

i actually got some of that really cheep sugar n' cream cotton (it's like $1.27 a ball) at the local craft store because i didn't want to spend a lot on my first socks in case they turned out awful. i had to change needle size and adjust my numbers a bit for gauge, but it's surprisingly quite nice to work with, and you can't argue with how cheep it is!

What size needles did you end up using? I have tons of sugar-n-cream... but didn't think I could use it because its so much thicker. I was thinking about maybe using Patons "Grace" since its 100% cotton. Its more of a DK weight than a sock yarn though. But... I think it would be fun. I might have to use smaller dpns to get closer to gauge. An excuse to go shopping though!
